brakes causing left turning signal to come on

I have a 1997 jeep wrangler and the left turning signal comes on when the brakes are applied.

If you mean the front parking lamp comes on (outside lamp) I would suspect either a shorted tail light bulb or the wiring going to it. (old body damage?) If the car has a trailer light hook up that's another place where power can cross if the wires are damaged.
