02 cougar circuit B malfunction
Please help, Im a mechanic myself, i have this 02 cougar with a 2.5. The code im getting is PO352. "Circuit B malfunction". I have fuel and compression, just no spark comeing from 3&4 bank of the coil. Ive inspected the wires to and from the coil to the PCM, and everything looks fine. Ive also changed the coil twice to be sure i didnt receive a defective one just to be sure. Ive heard other people are haveing the same problem with these cars with the same code numbers but ive yet been able to talk to any of them.

RE: 02 cougar circuit B malfunction
I’m not sure how your particular vehicle is configured but I suspect that it would be similar to others. I had a Chrysler that was doing the same thing. The “Coil Drivers” were located in the PCM. I changed the PCM (used one from salvage yard) and the problem was resolved.

I hope that helps. Please let us know what you find as it may help others.

Thanks for using the forum,

RE: 02 cougar circuit B malfunction
Did a little research on the web and my conclusion leans toward the PCM not firing the coil pack.

I would do a pin check between the coil pack and the PCM just to be sure and if that's ok then double check for 12 volts at the coil. You can probably use a test light or noid light to see if the PCM is switching the ground side while cranking.

Also found a nice diagram for you here. (about half way down the page)

Yeah, it's from another car forum, but hey, they probably come here as well. Why not share?
