2002 Jeep Liberty Highbeam Not Working
2002 Jeep Liberty, The highbeams quit working. I've checked the bulbs, no power at the socket in high, the low beam works. I've swoped the relay, checked the 2 fuses in the box under the dash. I tryed a NEW headlight/multi switch. Still the same thing. Ii you hold the switch up to, flash the lights, they work. When you turn the lights on and flick on the highbeams they don't. Thats why I thought it had to be the switch. Put in a new one and it does the same thing. Sad

RE: 2002 Jeep Liberty Highbeam Not Working
It sounds to me like the power for the “High Beam” travels along a different path than the “Flash High Beam” power. My best guess is that it is in the plug that attaches to the “headlight multi-switch.” I think that I would start there by back probing the plug. Find out which wire feeds the High Beam lights. If there is power at the plug the problem is towards the headlights. If there is no power there the problem is towards the switch. Follow the path step by step until you find the problem.

That vehicle should also have what is called a “BCM,” Body Control Module. It controls all of the electrical components pertaining to the body. The module it’s self could be the problem or it could give us some codes that would point to the problem. You could go to someone with a High End scanner and have it checked. (Most “code readers” won’t access the BCM.) This option could actually save time and money over trying to physically trace the system.

If you have it checked please Record all of the code NUMBERS, post them here for review, and have them cleared.

Please let us know what you find.
