I have a 2009 Kia Rio5 (two months old - only 3,000 km). A problem that appeared today is: while braking (low speeds), the car suddenly glides/jumps forward forcing me to slam the brakes on. It doesn't happen everytime, but often enough that I am obviously concerned.

I'm sure this is covered by my warranty, but I would like a better idea of what I am asking to be fixed.

Thanks for any suggestions.

RE: Kia Rio5
Sounds like an ABS problem, provided the car has ABS.

The other thing that comes to mind is an issue with the engine idle control. IOW, the engine speed is not constant and surges. You can confim this by watching the tach if it has one.

No ABS Sad

But thanks for the suggestion about the idle control. I'm bringing it in on Saturday. I'll post back out of interest what it was.

RE: Kia Rio5
Please also add your location as the country of origin can tell us things about the vehicle equipment / options.

Even in the USA we have different emission controls in California.
