2006 PT stuck
2006 PT,40,000 miles. When in park it seems fine even revving the engine but when you drive away it bogs down, like it is not getting gas.

Any advice would be appreciated as I have to drive 3 hours after work to get my stuck wife and kid. And I am sure there will be nothing open tommorow.

Thank You

RE: 2006 PT stuck
Two things come to mind . Plugged fuel filter and restricted (plugged) converter. you can replace filter to eliminate that posability . Anyou can try disconnecting the exhaust pipe just ahead of the converter and taking a BREIF test drive . Or you can go to your local muffler shop and have a backpressure test performed for a reasonable fee.

RE: 2006 PT stuck
Gotta agree here. 40 k miles is time to change the fuel filter if it's never been done and will give symptoms similar to a clogged cat converter.

The only other thing I can think of is possible trany issues, but I'd go with the filter first because that's cheap and easy.

Wink RE: 2006 PT stuck
It was a bad spark plug wire. I guess that is a common problem with the PT. I was told the fuel filter is in the tank on this car, not sure if that is true. I put new wires and plugs in it and it is running great. This also stopped the check eng. light from coming on.
Thanks for the tips!Smile
