So the question is?
I will take a stab at this and figure it's either the speed sensor hanging up or the speedo head hanging up. To figure this out you meed someone with a scanner that is able to read the road speed input while driving. If the scanner shows a variety of speeds (past 40?) then it's the speedo head causing the issue. This is worth a few phone calls because prices are all over the place on used speedo heads from a junk yard and a new one will set you back so far that you don't even want to know! BTW, on a 14 year old car had you considered just driving with traffic and not doing the repair? Let us know what you find. |
