What does a belt tesioner do for you vechile? What happen if you belt tesioner is bad what would happen if you dont change it? Some people say having a bad belt tesioner is bad because it will not gave alot of power to move the water pump, alternador, power streering pump and all that stuff, It this true?

The belt tensioner maintains proper belt tension for all of the accessories.

Usually what happens when the unit fails is the belt breaks or falls off, and you are stuck on the side of the road. If it fails at speed you may loose control of the vehicle due to lack of power steering.
